Funders

Thanks to our funders and supporters.

Our work to date has been funded by several agencies and institutions:

The Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) funds postgraduate training and research in the arts and humanities, from archaeology and English literature to design and dance. The quality and range of research supported not only provides social and cultural benefits but also contributes to the economic success of the UK.

The British Academy funded the pilot study for Beyond the Book project on mass reading events and supported Drs Fuller and Rehberg Sedo via an International Joint Activities Grant (2004-7).

The Department of American and Canadian Studies at the University of Birmingham provided physical space for the AHRC-funded project on mass reading events and some teaching relief for Dr Fuller in her role as project director. Mount Saint Vincent University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada provided support in terms of graduate assistance (2005), travel funds to support Dr Rehberg Sedo's activities as project co-director and a publications grant.

The Canadian Foundation for Innovation provided funding for the Atlantic Canada Communication Issues Research Lab, which houses the technical equipment and research space used on the North American side of the Atlantic.
